Will moving to Houston TX help relieve blown disc pain in back cause of the humidity or is that a myth?

My ex-boyfriend will be moving there "claiming" that the humidity will help his back pain. I am thinking that it will make it worse cause Humidity is painfull when people who have arthritis and the extreme heat along with humidity makes pain seem ten times worse. Is my ex just thinking it will help or will it really work for him??
