Do most towns in Canada have independent local governments?

Same here. Most towns have a local government but in towns or areas where there is either a small or relatively tered population, there is no local government(they are called unincorporated areas or towns), and there are usually regional district or county governments. I live in an unincorporated area and I would vote for people in the regional district government.

Why does this imagery fill me with peace when I think about it?

I am sitting in front of a burning lake on a rock that fells forever cool to the touch (not cold but cool). The flames dance out the most fantastic images of gold, green, blue, and orange. Jagged rocks of Obsidian enclose me and decorate the area around me with glowing veins of magma dripping through them. I am not hot in the least and feel quite comforable. The fire and rock are abound with a glorious energy that make me feel at complete peace.
