Our democracy: Are the people mind-numbingly stupid? Are the leaders even worse?

I could not agree more with you. I am sick of the garbage, the bureaucrats. The power mongers. I am tired of the media with their not so hidden agendas. Lets do something as a people from this point forward. Pay more attention to what is going on with our elected officials. Find ways to do away with the lobbyists, make it a crime. It is time that we have people looking after the will of our great people and not the elected person's own agenda (power, greed). This is the greatest country in the world. Lets take our country back. I love our country. It is still the best by far. We just need to start paying more attention (myself included). We need to call our representatives and make them behave like our representatives.
