What does a huge boom in your house mean?

There was a boom in my house last night at 11:34 which coincidentally spells hell backwards. lol. Anyways it sounded like someone took a big bowling ball and just dropped it from 4 feet. No one was awake at the time except me. It sounded like it came from the corner of my house under me. Supposedly it could have been a beam in the house expanding and contracting from the extreme cold but this has happened only once a year ago and it wasn't any colder than its normally been. It wasn't people because there were no tracks , footprints, marks, etc. anywhere in or around the house. Nothings been moved and there was no other noises. What could this be?
