Looking for a sci-fi movie?

When I was a kid (back in the 60's-70's), there were certain films that played a LOT on the afternoon movie shows. One film was a science fiction thing from (I believe) the early-mid 60's, possibly the late 50's. It involved a spaceship from Earth visiting the planet Venus and finding it inhabited by a civilization of only women. Now the strange thing is that I seem to remember seeing this movie in TWO different versions - one in which the astronauts (all men, of course) encountered and dealt with the women, and the other in which they never actually saw them, and the only glimpse we ever got of them was just at the very end. I haven't seen either of these since about '74 or so, so I'm probably just remembering two very similar movies. I'm afraid that's all I remember about them, but it's been driving me nuts for years now. Does anyone know what I'm remembering? (I'm from L.A., and the movies would have played on the afternoon movie shows on KTLA, KCOP or KCAL.)
