What are some good descriptions of intense pain?

Please describe the most painful experience you have had. Remember to compare your pain to something, use similes, anything that he;ps me imagine what you feel. Things like broken bones, cuts, even gunshot wounds. I am not a twisted freak, I am writing a book and need great descriptions. But I have never been shot, broken any major bones or been seriously wounded. Best description gets 10 points!!
