Is it ok if i traded my Nikkor 55-200mm f/4-5.6 with a 50mm f/1.8?

because i seldom use my 55-200mm and im not really much into zooming or anything.. and what i love about the 50mm is its depth of field.. of course i would love th 35mm f/1.8 but its more expensive than my 55-200mm.. what do you guys think?
