How much does the average reception cost?

tonight we went to look at a banquet hall to see if we might like to book our reception there. I fell in love with it. my other half wants to look more. he thinks its pricey. for 50 people it was $950. that includes set up clean up dinner. decorations like center pieces china, table clothes and napkins. then it was another 1900 if you wanted the wedding package which includes the bartender, dj, chocolate fountain and cake. total of 4 hours. is this worth it? how much would it be if i booked seperately for caterer etc?
